Yogen-in Temple

Famous for the blood-ceiling , the blood stains from the mass suicide of 100 samurai in the year of 1600. Yogen-in (養源院), located in Higashiyama district kyoto city, was established by Yodogimi(or Yodo-dono), concubine and second wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, for holding a memorial service for her father Asai Nagamasa. You can see the blood-stained floors belonging to the mass suicide of 100 samurais (the other temples are Shodenji, Yogenin, Myoshinji , Hosenin, Jinouji in, and Koshoji in Uji).
